Rearing Saturnia walterorum

On the second of April, Saturnia walterorum larvae that I ordered arrived in a small batch of ten. I immediately transferred them to a box with Laurel Sumac (Malosma laurina) cuttings dipped in water.          Immature 1st and second instar walterorum, fed on Malosma laurina. 04/02/2021      My plan was to feed the larvae on frozen cuttings and then 5 gallon plants in the larger 4-6 instars. Everything was going smoothly, although I did notice how small larvae could not get a grasp of the leaf and repeatedly kept falling off the side. Every now and then I would help them crawl back off to their host. More updates will be coming soon.
